"Kemper and I met through Unbreakabull Rescue Allies in Eugene, Oregon. At the point she had lived on the streets and in a kill shelter before going to a foster home at only 4 months old! We actually found her brother online but at the meet and greet I fell in love with Kemper immediately.

Kemper is my soul dog for sure. She honestly brings me so much joy! She has been the best cure for anxiety, motivation to go for walks, and source of laughter for my husband and me. Because I work from home, she is my constant companion and has filled that void of loneliness throughout the day. She’s my best friend!
Kemper is a pretty unusual name, mainly used for people. It was on my future baby name list but Taylor didn’t love it for a kid so we compromise by using Kemper for my pup!

Something that I’m super proud of us for is how Kemp and I work together! I’ve been able to train her by myself because she is so willing to learn and so communicative. One day I decided to teach her to put her own toys away and it took 2 weeks but she figured it out! No I tell her “put your toys away” and she runs around the apartment cleaning her mess. It’s the cutest thing EVER. "

Chai's Story

"I got Chai during the pandemic! We saw her online and feel in love. We adopted her from Mostly Muttz Rescue.
She changed our life by helping us grow our family and making us laugh everyday with her big personality.
She was part of the “bread litter” at the rescue and was originally named Ciabatta, I didn’t like that name so I shortened it to Chai
Her first time running off leash on my family’s acres. She loves visiting them and it brings us so much joy to see her running free and loving life!"

Linguine's Story

"The name of the shelter is Maui Humane Society. And the shelter already picked out the name Linguine he had three other brothers with pasta themed names and we kept it Because all of our other pets have Disney themed names and we thought that the name linguine would be perfect since it’s from ratatouille. Linguine live happy ever after with his new family."

Bailey's Story

"He was adopted from Humane Society of NY. I always wanted to have a dog so he is my dream come true We picked name Bailey because is sweet just like Bailey. He was such was my reason why I got up and left my house during lockdown of 2020"

Simon's Story

"I adopted Simon from Hearts & Bones animal rescue. They brought him up from Texas. I foster failed after one day.
He’s added so much to my life in so many ways. I always have a companion and feel less lonely during hard times. I’m also a lot more active throughout the day, which has been great for my mental health while working from home.
I always wanted a human name, it was just about finding the right one for his personality.
We recently shared an especially wonderful spring day bopping around the city. We must have walked 25,000 steps going up and down the Hudson, looking at all the trees in bloom. He was smiling so wide, just happy to be included."

Cash's Story

"My husband surprised me with our first meeting with Sunshine Dog Rescue. It was love at first sight between us and him!

We just lost our unborn baby and getting him has been such a light during this dark time!
